A review of violence in Guatemala identifies more than 60 environmental activists killed and other instances of violence between 2007 and 2017 while protecting water and other resources

Research by a professor at the University of Regina, Canada, finds that between 2007 and 2017 at least 61 Guatemalan activists were murdered for their work protecting rivers, lands, and the people who depend on them for their livelihoods.
